A US Airways Airbus A-320 lies a few feet offshore in the Hudson River after making an emergency landing upriver on Jan. 15, 2009. The tide carried the jetliner downstream near the World Trade Center site in Lower Manhattan. All 155 passengers and crew survived. FDNY marine units were on scene within five minutes.

Dedication

This month's Firehouse is dedicated to Firefighter Gary Stephens, 57, of the Elizabeth, NJ, Fire Department; Firefighter John C. Myers, 61, of the Union Chapel Volunteer Fire Department in Pittsburg, OK; and Lieutenant Kevin M. Kelley, 52, of the Boston, MA, Fire Department, who died in the line of duty, January 2009.
