On This Month's Cover:

Lieutenant Brian Johns of Gainesville, FL, Fire Rescue operates at the scene of an accident in which a tractor-trailer loaded with 30 tons of sand toppled onto a car. Apparently, the driver of a car drove through a stop sign. The truck smashed into the driver’s side, pushing the car 40 feet before hitting a curb and rolling onto the car. Firefighters from one engine, one rescue and one truck and a district chief worked for an hour with two sets of hydraulic rescue tools to extricate the woman. The truck was stabilized with cribbing, cables and rope. The incident occurred on June 30, 1998.
